Among them is Joël Pierrevil, known as Joël Akoustik, born in Port-au-Prince. He discovered his passion for music at Saint-Louis de Gonzague and refined his skills under the guidance of Fabienne Denis. In 2014, he founded Akoustik Band, blending pop, reggae, ska, jazz, and rasin. His debut album, released in 2019, established his unique musical identity.
For PAPJAZZ It Up, he will be joined by Alexa Cherrelus, Clément "Kéké" Bélizaire, guitarist, and Fameuse Maude, a rising star from the "An n chante Beethov" 2023/2024 competition as well as the saxophone player TiSax, Poupy (Norman Imérant) on drums, Johnson St Cyr on bass, Nathanael Cineus on keys, and Feguitho Francois percussions/vovals.
Together, they offer a vibrant fusion of konpa, chanson and jazz, revisiting well-known themes in a unique musical experience.
