Catts Pressoir

The Collège Catts Pressoir Jazz ensemble was created in 2013 by Gessoit Pierre Louis with the collaboration of Donaldzie Théodore and is made up of 20 Collège students aged between 14 and 16. Jazz leads them to develop a passion for music.

Their shared vision is to strengthen jazz music in Haiti by orienting young Haitian schoolchildren towards jazz.

Leyla

At just 22, Murielle Altide Seide, known as Leyla Music, embodies pure passion for the violin. A self-taught musician, she has already graced several stages in Haiti, including ÉNARTS and PAPJAZZ, where she performed alongside Erol Josué in January 2024.

Leyla breathes music—her violin is more than an instrument; it is her closest companion. Every note she plays carries deep emotion, creating a dialogue with herself and her audience. Inspired by Vivaldi, Paganini, and Grappelli, she dreams of further academic training to refine her craft.

Despite security challenges limiting her mobility, she dedicates herself daily to practice, fueled by a relentless pursuit of excellence. For Leyla, music is a universal language, a refuge, and an energy to be shared. Determined and tireless, she aspires to leave a lasting mark in the world of violin.
